Overview

This in-depth course is focussed on helping staff to take both a proactive and reactive approach to mental health in the workplace. It will be contextualised to your organisation and can cover adults and/or young people. It will enable learners to contribute to a workplace culture that minimises the impact of mental health problems. This is done through understanding and applying current best practice, as well as learning how to develop individual mental resilience. The course will give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise and safely support someone who may be experiencing stress or a mental health problem. On successful completion, learners will be qualified as 'Mental Health First Aiders', sometimes also referred to as 'Mental Health Champions' or 'Mental Health Advocates'.
