COURSE OVERVIEW
This course will give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to look after an adult or child who suddenly becomes injured or unwell whilst Scouting.
This course has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Scouts Full First Aid syllabus as detailed in the POR and FS120052.
"All groups undertaking remote adventurous activities where travelling time is 3 hours or more to a point of refuge must have immediate access to someone holding a relevant and current Full First Aid Certificate".

TOPICS
As per the POR and FS120052 requirements as a minimum:
Introduction:
• Principles of first aid
• Initial response
Resuscitation:
• Unconscious casualty
• CPR and AED
• Shock
Trauma:
• Bleeding
• Burns and scalds
• Fractures
• Minor injuries
• Spinal injury
Medical:
• Heat illness
• Hypothermia
• Dehydration
• Meningitis
• Anaphylaxis

CERTIFICATION
All of our courses are fully assessed and certificated to nationally recognised standards. eCertificates are valid for 3 years.
There is no additional qualification available for this course.
