COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to look after an adult or child who suddenly becomes injured or unwell in an Early Years setting.

This course has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Department for Education’s (DfE's) Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework for those who wish to be included in their settings ratios.

TOPICS

Introduction:

• Roles and responsibilities
• Incident management
• Casualty assessment

Resuscitation:

• Cardiac arrest - CPR and AED
• Unconscious casualty
• Choking

Trauma:

• External bleeding
• Shock
• Minor Injuries
• Bites and Stings

CERTIFICATION

All of our courses are fully assessed and certificated to nationally recognised standards. eCertificates are valid for 3 years.

If required, this course may also lead to the QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF).

In this case, learners must be at least 14 years old and complete the course within 3 weeks.
