Combined FAW (initial) and Paediatric First Aid - 3 day

This course is available as either:

  • Fully on-site (3 days face-to-face), or
  • Blended (eLearning + 2 days face-to-face)
Face-to face training is delivered at your venue. It can be delivered at the weekends, in the evening, or in half day sessions if required. The high quality interactive eLearning can be completed by learners on any internet connected device, at a time, place and pace to suit them.


This course combines the 3 day First Aid at Work and EYFS Paediatric First Aid (12 hour) courses. It will give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to look after an adult or child who becomes injured or unwell at work. It's perfect for those who work in schools or Early Years settings as it provides cover for both adults and children.

It meets the requirements of the:

  • Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
  • Department for Education (DfE) Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework
  • Millies Mark Accreditation
Those who are currently hold a FAW certificate (or whose certificate has recently expired) require the Combined First Aid (re-validation) course.

  • Choking
  • Unconscious person
  • Anaphylaxis

  • Chest injuries

Cardiovascular problems:

  • Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Heart attack
  • Cardiac arrest (CPR and AED)
  • Catastrophic bleeding - optional

Neurological problems:

  • Seizures and Epilepsy
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • Head injuries
  • Stroke
  • Meningitis

Musculoskeletal problems:

  • Spinal injuries
  • Limb and joint injuries

Environmental problems:

  • Burns
  • Poisoning
  • Bites and Stings
  • Hypothermia
  • Heat illness
  • Allergic reaction
  • Electric shock
  • Minor injuries

Qualification - Optional

If required, this course may also lead to the Qualsafe Awards Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) and/or the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) In this case, learners must be at least 14 years old and complete the course within 3 weeks.
