Combined EFAW and Emergency Paediatric First Aid - 1 day

This course is available as either:

  • Fully on-site (1 day face-to-face), or
  • Blended (eLearning + half day face-to-face)
Face-to face training is delivered at your venue. It can be delivered at the weekends, in the evening, or in half day sessions if required. The high quality interactive eLearning can be completed by learners on any internet connected device, at a time, place and pace to suit them.


This course combines the Emergency First Aid at Work and Emergency Paediatric First Aid (6 hour) courses. It will give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to look after an adult or child who becomes injured or unwell in a 'low-risk' workplace. It's perfect for those who work in schools or Early Years settings, as it provides cover for both adults and children.

It meets the requirements of the:

  • Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
  • Department for Education (DfE) Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework
  • Millies Mark Accreditation


As a minimum, this course will cover...


  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Incident management
  • Casualty assessment

Respiratory problems:

  • Choking
  • Unconscious person

Cardiovascular problems:

  • Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Cardiac arrest (CPR and AED)

Neurological problems:

  • Seizures and Epilepsy

Environmental problems:

  • Minor injuries

Qualification - Optional

If required, this course may also lead to the Qualsafe Awards:

  • Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF), or
  • Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
Learners must be at least 14 years old and complete the course within 3 weeks.
